Take a stroll around Bournemouth’s largest art gallery – the town centre! Walls, pillars and railings all become canvases to some amazing public art pieces.
Discover a whole range of sculpture, mosaic and mural art, including Dorset’s largest mural, vibrant street art, and a rather humorous depiction of architect, Christopher Crabb Creeke.
We’ve highlighted a few key pieces around the town but keep your eyes peeled for other pieces of public art along your route. There’s artistic expression to be found in the smallest pavement tile, highest wall, or just around the corner

Route description and access information
We want as many people as possible to experience our trails, but not all locations on each trail are suitable for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
This is a self-led walking trail that helps you explore Bournemouth Town Centre. All paths on this route are hard surface.
There is an incline as you travel from Bournemouth Pier up towards East Cliff and the Russell-Cotes. There are also steps linking the Civic Centre and the Central Gardens where the War Memorial can be seen.
Facilities and rest opportunities
There are public toilets in the Lower Gardens and at the Pier Approach. You will find many cafés, restaurants, pubs and opportunities to sit along this trail.
Dogs
Bournemouth Public Art Trail is dog-friendly with a mix of urban and green landscape. We advise that dogs are best kept on leads.
